white dove

I couldn’t resist your sincere gaze,

Your monolid beneath your pale skin’s grace.
The day you hugged the little child,
I knew we never were meant to stay.

Do you know, Han, I never meant to be,
This way, as I strive for love so free.
I try to dress well, to hide,
The monster that grows deep inside.

You’re the white dove, so pure, so bright,
I am the black swan, stuck in night.
You fly in the farthest sky,
While I’m stuck in the wetlands, asking why.

You came with flowers, folded with care,
I threw them away, without a prayer.
You stayed outside, till the rain poured,
I asked you to leave, couldn't ignore.

Not because of my heart’s cold ache,
But you’re too pure, too pure to break.
You’d never know the things I’ve done,
To feel like a demon, under the sun.

You’re the white dove, so pure, so bright,
I am the black swan, stuck in night.
You fly in the farthest sky,
While I’m stuck in the wetlands, asking why.
