red bow tie

The red bow tie in your curly hair,
A soft voice, light eyes with a smile so rare.
I clapped so loud, more than the rest,
If only time could freeze, just like a jest.

Why would God steal my smiling eyes?
Thinking of the pain, the endless cries.
If there were ten billion who’d hate you, my dear,
I’d stay right here, never disappear.

Now I see you again, in a frame so cold,
Your sad eyes, your face growing old.
Now I can only see you through the glass,
Who took my smiles, my little girl’s past?

Why would God steal my smiling eyes?
Thinking of the pain, the endless cries.
If there were ten billion who’d hate you, my dear,
I’d stay right here, never disappear.

I blame myself for what I could’ve done,
Now I can only save you in film, but I’m undone.
Sorry, my girl, uncle’s too late,
Those monsters came and sealed your fate.

Sorry, my girl, uncle couldn't keep you safe

This red bow tie, I’ll keep til' my end day.
