Can you hear me, Vronsky?

I know you do not hear

My pleas lost in the wind, with all my sins so clear

No right to ask for aid

Not a prince, not a family, my wishes all unsaid

No more will I implore

But please, freeze my heart, make it cold to the core

Transform me into the beast you desire

So I can conquer the frailties of my heart's fire

Banish the need for love, for company

My mind fixates on that scene endlessly

Or can you just

Just grant me one Vronsky, to hold me tight

Let me feel once more, without pain, the light

Just once more, then you can break me

Shatter me completely

Can you hear my plea?

I know I'm your forsaken

Unworthy of the dawn, unworthy of the beauty this world has taken

At least give meaning to my vanishing

I would be so grateful, so grateful for this offering.
